(AL!VE): 800 W Lawrence Ave. Charlotte, MI 48813
Packet Pick Up 7:30 AM | Race Start 10:00 AM
Fast Fitty is Charlotte’s premier Gravel Grinder featuring some great views and long, grinding climbs! While traversing Eaton and Barry counties, you’ll race along Lacey Lake and several country scenes on approximately 85% unpaved roads. There are 3 different distances with cash payouts to the Top 3 Men & Women overall in the 54 & 36 mile distances. All proceeds are given to The House of Promise in Lansing, MI.
The Shorty is 19 miles and a great course for all levels of riders. This course, along with The Speedy and Fast Fitty, starts off on paved N. Wheaton Rd for approximately 1 mile. And then, you turn onto Valley Highway and the gravel goodliness begins. Over the course of the next 18 miles, you’ll race on approximately 80% gravel and 20% pavement. You will cross M-79 twice on this route. The first is marshaled by Eaton County Sheriff’s Department and the second by volunteers.
After crossing M-79 on Bradley Rd., you’ll enjoy another mile of pavement that is undulating through farm country before seeing the “Pavement Ends” sign by Valley Highway. As you continue north towards Lamie Highway, you’ll be doing some climbing and from Lamie Highway and Bradley Rd, you’ll turn right heading east and using the same finish as The Speedy and Fast Fitty. The total elevation for The Shorty is a modest 680 feet.

The Speedy is 36 miles and shares “most popular” honors with Fast Fitty as we’ve seen an equal percentage of racers in each race the first 3 years. This course, along with The Shorty and Fast Fitty, starts off on paved N. Wheaton Rd for approximately 1 mile. And then, you turn onto Valley Highway and the gravel goodliness begins. Over the course of the next 35 miles, you’ll race on approximately 85% gravel and 15% pavement. You will cross M-79 twice on this route. The first is marshaled by Eaton County Sheriff’s Department and the second by volunteers.
This beautiful course runs along Lacey Lake with some sections completely shaded by big, mature trees. There’s no shortage of farmland and scenery either. And unlike some races that tout some steep, teeth-kicking climbs, The Speedy offers you long, grinding climbs that make you wonder if the course ever flattens or goes downhill.
As you continue north on Pease Rd after crossing M-79, you’ll cross Valley Highway and use the same finish as Fast Fitty. In total, you’ll climb 1700 feet on The Speedy.

This course is 54 miles and shares “most popular” honors with The Speedy as we’ve seen an equal percentage of racers in each race the first 3 years. This course, along with The Shorty and The Speedy, starts off on paved N. Wheaton Rd for approximately 1 mile. And then, you turn onto Valley Highway and the gravel goodliness begins. Over the course of the next 53 miles, you’ll race on approximately 80% gravel and 20% pavement. You will cross M-79 twice on this route. The first is marshaled by Eaton County Sheriff’s Department and the second by volunteers. You’ll also cross M-66 twice, both marshaled by volunteers.
This beautiful course runs along Lacey Lake with some sections completely shaded by big, mature trees. You’ll also see Sammy the Satellite dish (he offers you a smile), a fresh produce stand, wonderfully preserved farms/farm houses/barns, and a graffiti-laced rail car!
After you’ve crossed M-79 at Curtis Rd and are racing east on Valley Highway, you could likely meet up with some Speedy racers who’ll be using the same finish route. In total, you’ll climb 2550 feet on Fast Fitty, most of which will be longer, grinding climbs that seem to never end.
